  Missing Link---

  The best I can tell you (and I think it says this in the video), is that Ciro gave this talk during the first half of 2007. He was somewhere on the eastern US coast (Delaware, New Jersey??). I obtained a copy of this talk in December 2007, about a month after my sister was sent a copy from a well-meaning family member.

  When I was a JW, from time to time there would be special meetings set up when brothers visited from Bethel. I believe this is the case here - Ciro's talk is too long to have been part of a Circuit Assembly, so it couldn't have been during a regularly scheduled assembly. I would guess that one congregation hosted his visit and several neighboring congregations were invited to come here him speak one Saturday afternoon in a high school gymnaium or Assembly Hall.

  Shamus100- Thanks for the link. The chorus definitely fit Ciro's personality. I should have had that song playing during the opening and closing credits. To answer the above question, yes, Ciro is a real person. He's currently an elder at the Watchtower's World Headquarters. I got a copy of this talk when one of my relatives felt that my sister (also an ex-JW) would be encouraged by listening to this. My sister called me on the way home from work one day & told me she was putting the CD into her stereo right then to listen to the talk on her drive home from work. She called me back 15 minutes later and told me it made her so sick she had to eject it and throw it in her back seat. I encouraged her to give me the CD instead of throwing it away.

  Some of you have probably heard this talk before, but I updated my site and made this page: http://www.watchtowerletters.com/more.html The best part (in my opinion) is the talk by Ciro Aulicino, entitled "You WIll Be With Me in Paradise". In that talk, he goes into detail regarding the mountains of corpses and stench of decaying flesh that JWs will find themselves surround by after Armageddon. He gives everyone "pre-Armageddon instructions", speculates heavily (and without scriptural support) as to life after Armageddon, talks of how animals will all be in subjection (including the snake who will "get a pretty little face again") and how the Society was wrong for stressing "generation". My favorite part is when he discusses how the continents will be rejoined Pangea-style in the near future. You can click on the link for the whole talk, or, if you haven't got an hour and 55 minutes to kill, you can click on the "Highlights" link. That will take you to a youtube video wherein my wife and I selected the best 10 minutes of the talk and put in accompanying visuals. WARNING: The talk (and the video!) are quite graphic! I wouldn't let my son listen to it, so I recommend viewer/listener discretion. Particularly disturbing are his comments regarding the 'satisfying' death of all non-Witnesses, such as homosexuals and those that "don't mind having them around". Oh - if you do watch the video, be sure to rate it!

  Yes, I'll pass the thanks onto my wife. This is the kind of community support that I'll miss about this site.

  Missus- Your days of crying over Armageddon are over, I hope. You were not alone, I can assure you that. I often panicked (inside) at the thought that I, or someone I loved, wouldn't be "good enough" to survive Armageddon, even though we were already Witnesses.

  I recently obtained a recording of a talk by Ciro Aulesino in which he goes on and on (and on) about the impending "gruesome situation" (his words, not mine) we will face at Armageddon. It reminded me of how grateful I am to have left that all behind. I hope to post that talk on the web soon.

  two of the three people interviewed in this show are ex-jehovah's witnesses.

  though it's an atheist show, there's not much in this show about atheism, it's mostly about leaving the religion of one's childhood.. it's a two-parter.

  Words in other languages which have different meanings to when we say them

  does anybody know of any words, which are spelt and pronounced the same, which are used in other languages but which mean completely different things?

  as an example (which doesn't work i know) love in english means affection, but love in say, spanish, means hate?

  dumb example i know, but do you catch my drift?

  Yeah, a prequel would be nice, but I doubt it would ever come to pass. The people who cancelled that show are going to a very special hell. The kind they reserve for child molestors and people who talk at theaters.
